Palm Springs International Airport USO

Picture from web site slide show.Among the baggage claim carousels at the Palm Springs International Airport, a safe haven is tucked away in a corner room. Young men and women in uniform munch chips within the fully stocked kitchen and doze off in a comfy recliner.

This conveniently located airport facility features all of the amenities, flair and comfort of a modern commercial airline VIP lounge—and all of the services are provided to America’s brave young warriors and their families free of charge! We do everything possible to ensure our troops have a safe and comfortable place to relax while on the move through Palm Springs to US or worldwide locations.

Services such as Internet-connected computers, video games, magazines and cable television with a DVD library are available at no cost.

"Some of them are so surprised this is all free," said David Lutes, public relations coordinator for the USO. "They will tell me, 'thank you sir,' but I reply, 'No, thank you for serving your country.' We're able to give them a safe, clean place to relax while making them feel at ease and sometimes play the part of a mother or father figure when they need it."
