A double-amputee Iraq-war vet is suing Michael Moore for $85 million, claiming the portly peacenik recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear anti-war in "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Sgt. Peter Damon, 33, who strongly supports America's invasion of Iraq, said he never agreed to be in the 2004 movie, which trashes President Bush.
In the 2003 interview, which he did at Walter Reed Army Hospital for NBC News, he discussed only a new painkiller the military was using on wounded vets.
"They took the clip because it was a gut-wrenching scene," Damon said yesterday. "They sandwiched it in. [Moore] was using me as ammunition." New York Post Article

9/11 Rolling Memorial
The Rolling Memorial is the brain child of John and Amy Holmgren of Shafer, MN (a small-town one hour NE of the Twin Cities near Taylors Falls).
The Pentagon announced the Iraq border is 90% under control.
Pretty good when you consider San Diego's border is 20% under control.

Veterans Report 5/23/06
WASHINGTON, May 25 (Reuters) - The head of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs faced angry lawmakers on Thursday and described how the theft of a device the size of an iPod containing personal data on 26.5 million veterans may cost taxpayers as much as $500 million. Reuters
VA Urges Caution After Theft of Data.
Veterans Affairs officials have announced the theft of personal information on up to 26.5 million veterans. However, VA Secretary R. James Nicholson stressed there's no indication the information is being used for purposes of fraud. Although the compromised data includes names, Social Security numbers and birthdates of veterans separating from the military since 1975, it doesn't include health or financial records. Military.com will keep you apprised of any further developments. For more information, read the full article at Military.com.
The department is providing more information through the http://www.firstgov.gov/ Web site and call centers that can be reached at (800) 333-4636. The call centers, which will be active today, will be able to handle more than 250,000 calls a day.
VA Volunteers Mark 60th Anniversary
In April 1946, former General of the Army Omar Bradley, then head of the Veterans Administration, convened a meeting of veterans groups and welfare organizations to establish a national plan for volunteer assistance at VA facilities. Today, the office that was created to oversee the volunteers assisting at the agency's facilities now has about 140,000 volunteers on its rolls, with 94,000 contributing more than 13 million hours last year. Volunteers assist hospital staff. They work in nursing homes, hospital wards, clinics, recreational activities, end-of-life care and many other programs. They also work in national cemeteries and benefits offices. For more information on volunteering for the VA, visit the VA Voluntary Service website. If you live near a VA Medical Center give it try you'll like it. I did.

MY HOME TOWN
Federal authorities became interested when investigators found the stores were transferring sizeable amounts of money to Yemen, whose lax banking laws have made it an attractive money-laundering destination for terrorists.
The men were also cashing out federal WIC cards and food stamps and selling cigarettes at the delis without state tax stamps.

Armed Forces Day
On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department -- the Department of Defense.
Armed Forces Day History
Excerpts from a letter by Master Sergeant John Ubaldi, a US Marine
who served in both Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)
and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). Founding Board Member of MAF
President John Kennedy: "Our serviceman and women are serving throughout the world as guardians of peace-many of them away from their homes, their friends and their families. They are visible evidence of our determination to meet any threat to the peace with measured strength and high resolve. They are also evidence of a harsh but inescapable truth-that the survival of freedom requires great cost and commitment, and great personnel sacrifice."
Inscription above the statue of Thomas Jefferson at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C., reads "I have sworn upon the alter of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of men." The caption represents the fundamental beliefs of this nation and the values of many that serve on the front lines of freedom.
America, as stated by President Lincoln, gave humanity a "new birth of freedom." Again, the nation's armed forces have been summoned to rescue humanity from individuals who wish to enslave and terrorize.
It's humbling to know that many brave men & women are serving in the army, navy, air force, marines, and coast guard of this great nation realizing that freedom isn't free, following in the illustrious tradition of previous generations who sacrificed everything serving in Americas Armed Forces.

Charlie Daniels Letter to the Hollywood Bunch
Powered by Castpost
An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch
Ok, let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq. Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done for world peace.
Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.
Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.
I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A.
Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him?
Barbara Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush make about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing.
You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the real world. You¹d be surprised at the hostility you would find out here.
Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver that you don¹t think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong. Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the United States has no right to defend itself. Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you. Please visit Clarksville, Tennessee and the 101st Airborne and talk that S****, please visit those Real American's.
You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I¹ve ever had the displeasure to hear about.
Sean Penn, you¹re a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't have the stomach for war. You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby.
Freedom of choice you say? Well I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss.
You scoff at our military who's boots you're not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.
America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her. There is no middle ground. I think we all know where you stand. I will stand with the soldiers, airmen, and sailors. The hard working men and women of this great country. Not the overpaid, pansy ass, Hollywood wimp wanna be's, and has beens, who can't hold a candle to real American's, the middle class blue collar workers.
What do you think? Boycott any Hollywood type that protest against the USA.
God Bless America

Rolling memorial carries 'Comfort'
Karla Comfort received a lot of looks and even some salutes from people when she drove from Benton, Ark., to Camp Pendleton, Calif., in her newly-painted, custom Hummer H3 March 2.
The vehicle is adorned with the likeness of her son, 20-year-old Lance Cpl. John M. Holmason, and nine other Marines with F Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division who where all killed by the same improvised explosive device blast in Fallujah, Iraq, in December.
For Comfort, having the vehicle air brushed with the image of the 10 Marines was a way to pay homage to her hero and his fellow comrades who fell on Iraq’s urban battlefield.
“I wanted to let people know (Marines) are doing their jobs honorably, and some of them die,” said the 39-year-old from Portland, Ore. “I don’t want people to forget the sacrifices that my son and the other Marines made.”

Medal of Honor Fakers Proliferating
There are 113 living recipients of America's highest military award, but an FBI agent says the impostors outnumber the true heroes. This has prompted The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation to lobby for tougher laws to punish the impostors. Anyone convicted of fraudulently wearing the Medal of Honor faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

This is an apparent scam. DAV does not ever solicit money or donations through phone calls. If you or someone you know receives solicitation phone calls from anyone claiming to be a representative of DAV, please gather as much information from the caller as possible and contact the DAV immediately. Contact information is available at www.dav.org/contact_us.html.

Censure Carter TV Blitz – by Melanie Morgan
he has hit a new low.
In a newspaper OpEd piece published this weekend, former President Jimmy Carter has pathetically attacked the United States and defended the terrorist group, Hamas. Carter says we have engaged in a "crime" in our tough stance against these terrorists and he calls America to task.
Read Carter's Op Ed:http://www.cartercenter.org/doc2337.htm
Should you have any doubts about the deadly nature of the terrorist group, Hamas, then maybe pictures will help set things straight for you. Here's a sampling of pictures of recent Hamas-led terrorist strikes.

Today, on Fox News between 9:00AM and 1:00Pm, we begin our "Censure Jimmy Carter" TV ad blitz.
Just from our announcement of the start of this ad campaign we found out that NBC and CNN may do stories on the "Censure Carter" campaign.
It's so very important that the message be delivered that the silent majority of Americans will be silent no longer. While the anti-war Left defiles our troops and their missions, they also celebrate the leaders of the "Blame America First" contingent: Jimmy Carter, Michael Moore, Jane Fonda, et. al.
I'm working very hard to help get this message out.
Today my column, "Jimmy Carter's Middle East Mess" was published.

ACLU Wants Soldier Funerals Disrupted
Portions of a new Kentucky law intended to prevent protesters from disrupting funerals for soldiers killed in Iraq are unconstitutional, the American Civil Liberties Union said in a federal lawsuit filed Monday. article
As usual the Anti Civil Liberties Union has it wrong. Where are the rights of the family? Where is the preacher's right to free speech? Why is it that the criminals have rights but (according to the ACLU) the rest of us only have rights if it does not interfere with the law breakers rights? - Texas Teacher

Charity Scams Target Veterans
Servicemembers and veterans should be careful when making donations to solicitors claiming to be charities in support of our troops. Fraudulent activities associated with donations may come in the form of an email or a telephone call. Before making a donation, verify the legitimacy of the organization using Military.com's Support Our Troops Center or the DoD website America Supports You.
Heroes of the Year Sought
Staff Sgt. Robbi Smette of Makoti, N.D., was the first Citizen-Soldier to be nominated as the Hero of the Year in a unique national campaign that Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. has initiated to honor this country's Army Guard members. Jackson Hewitt will honor one Army Guard Soldier each month for the rest of this year, and a panel of judges will select a Hero of the Year from those 10 candidates. VA to Seek DNA of All Veterans
Researchers are mapping the human genome for the day when physicians will use a patient's genetic profile as preventive medicine. To that end, the Department of Veterans Affairs plans to create a genetic database from potentially millions of VA patients. The VA plans to collect the first 100,000 samples in October, 2007 and foresees a database as large as the number of veterans who are willing to contribute samples of their DNA. VA also plans to write rules regarding handling a person's genetic profile while using it in research.
Panel Votes to Block TRICARE Hikes
A House panel has voted to block for at least two years any increases in TRICARE beneficiary cost-shares. It's the first formal step by Congress to derail the Bush administration's plan to raise fees, co-payments and deductibles for military retirees under age 65 and their families. Additionally, a January 2007 pay raise of 2.7 percent for Reserve and National Guard personnel was approved, as was a plan for an additional "targeted" raise for warrant officers and some senior enlisted.
